(WPRI) – North Kingstown’s Elizabeth Beisel finished 6th in the women’s 400 IM finals Saturday in the Rio Olympics with a time of 4:34:98.
Beisel, competing in her third Olympics, finished with the 6th best time earlier in the day during the heat race.
Katinka Hosszu of Hungary set a new world record in earning the gold medal. American Maya DiRado claimed a bronze medal.
Beisel, who had been battling some injuries coming into Rio, claimed a silver medal and a bronze medal at the 2012 games in London.
